Default Which is the best way to launch a 3,600 Stall Converter?

I have a SS Yank 3,600 converter being installed this tuesday and im just wondering what would result in a better 60ft time, flashing from idle or footbraking as much as the tires can hold and then stepping on it?

I had a 3,400 Vigalante in a 87 Grand National and would have to get the boost up prior to launching..

So i just wanted to see whats best for these type of cars...

Thanks for all of your thoughts in advance...

trial and error. Only way to find out is try different ways. I know most street style converters just like to take off from idle. Take advantage of the torque multiplication.

Start out at 2400 go up by 200 rpm each run till you find your sweet spot.
Thats what I do with the SS3600.

Brake stall as high up in the RPM as you can

This was always the best results for me. Just before the tires are ready to break loose. I have a vig 3600 and cut 1.64 60s on nitto 555rs using this method.

I've seen people run better times launching from idle to slightly above idle. Try it both ways.

Thanks again to all of you. My converter was installed today,so im taking a long ride around Florida tomorrow because the card that came with the converter said not to launch hard until i have driven 150 miles on the car i guess these require a breakin period?
And as long as the rain holds off i will be at the track this friday nite...
I will update you hopefully with Great news...

Thanks again

Alright, try it both ways and lmk. Try 1500 then try maxing it out like others have suggested.

I tried stalling up, holding around 1500rpm, and off idle

So far off idle has been the best even though it spun a little, but it was only a 1.79 60ft

This was on 555Rs, 275/50/15

heat those tires up, and let it rip!! I have tried both, and both methods work, just came down to tire, and burnout.. the off idle was alittle more forgiving..

Both works well if you can get the car to hook up

Circle D 4C here. This converter likes to be footbraked to about 2k. Best na 60' = 1.69, best N20 60' = 1.44

I haven't launched it na since some major susp adjustments. Might improve even more from the previous 1.69.

I have tried both with my Circle D and I have gotten a little better (very slightly) results from mashing the pedal from an idle.....every car is different so it is best to just try both and see what works for you/your car
