Help identify this converter
This converter is 12" on the outside, and the inner converter section is 10".
It has the numbers "78396" on it and a sticker that was painted over that has some numbers and a barcode on it.
It fits a 4L60E.
Any suggestions to identify it?

Thats a PATC converter.
You might consider reading up on 'spaceship' converters. It was an early attempt to get a decent sized clutch in a 9.5" converter, the bad part is the weight and lost efficiency.
Now most quality converters are using billet fronts.
The barcode sticker is just a left over from the original 12" core. These converters are made from 12" cores for the front and 9.x cores for the rear.

I am 99% sure that Midwest manufactures those for PATC. I bought one from PATC back in the day and I bought another from Midwest about a year later and they were identical. I had good luck out of them, but that was back when I was around 350 rwhp. I would go name-brand with anything over that power level....
