Default 4L60E repair or rebuild?

I have a 2000 Z28 with the 4l60e that will not move in drive, but if placed in first it will move but slip (with shudder and squeal) with very little throttle input, and when enough speed is (gently) attained can shift to second and it slips (and squeals) in second also but not as bad. 3rd and od work NORMAL and can take FULL throttle no problem. Reverse is ok also. When i slow from say 55 and when i get to about 20 it acts like its in neutral, and then i have to manually shift it to first (or second) to start going again. Fluid and filter change was no help, was not burnt, and it is NOT throwing any codes. IR thermo shows normal temps of about 150. Does anyone know any tests or checks i can do to see if it is repairable from the pan side as they say? (as opposed to rebuild out of car) thanks in advance!

Rebuild that sucker. I just had mine rebuilt, cost me $240.00 in parts. Sounds like you just need new clutches, bands and the basics.
