Default FLT 4L60E W/Rossler Brake & BigStuff3 2-Step AWESOME!

Well many of you know that Dan Bills Owner of Finish Line Performance Teamed up with Chuck Johnson Owner of Finish Line Transmission to help me make my "Barbie Vette" more competitive off the line. This project started at the end of 2009's drag racing season and with some racing thrown in was finished a few weeks ago. I now have 9 launches off the Trans Brake on this set-up and I am here to say HOLY **** THIS THING LAUNCHES HARD!!! Before off the foot brake it took 4mph and 9 feet to get to boost, now I am launching with about 5 lbs of boost so all hell breaks loose on launch!! The Yank Convertor, The RPM Rear End, and Chucks 4L60E Tranny seems to be holding up GREAT!!! I am still "tweeking" stuff and have to re-do the rear suspension settings in order to take full advantage of the new setup. The Guys that drag race their Vettes' have some pretty exciting stuff waiting for them if they contact Dan and Chuck for details!!!

JR

Any time runs to speak of or are we still fighting traction at this point?

Best run Saturday at Byron was 9.27 @ 152 (1.44 60') spinning through 1st gear, out of the throttle for 1 sec. and tires breaking loose at 100 mph in 3rd gear - I'd say I have some issues to work out next spring lol

Thanks for the reply Jr. So have you packed it up for this season or are you still going to head out to do more testing? Nice to see even with the loss of traction the car still has 20's in it. I hope to see 8.9x's in the future! Vince

Vince - I don't want to risk blowin **** up with cold weather, bad traction etc. so I put antifreeze in her, put the passenger seat back in, took off the parachute, pulled the side bars off, and put the street tires back on. I'de say we'er done for this year buddy. One very productive year for the Vette!! Thanks for bustin your *** for me more than once in 2010!! Tell Andy to stay off my strippers pole in the shop!!

Chris not sure what details you are looking for here but here is what I can tell you from talking with Jr and what he has posted on the net. Jr's vet runs a FLT level 7 with a Rossler trans brake with a 2.85 planetary gear set. In addition to the level 7 build spec's he does have a sonnax 2nd gear super hold servo. Runs -6an fittings with braided lines. All other details on the trans can be found here. http://finishlinetrans.com/transmiss...rmance4L65.htm

As far as the car. The "Barbie Vette" is 3,700 lbs. and fully street legal/driven also fully NHRA Legal 9 second Vette (with full cage and all) in street form (stock seats, sterio, interior, power everything) with driver (260 lbs) and 1/2 tank of 100 Oct No Lead makes for a pretty heavy C5 Vette! Forgot to mention passes Illinois emissions!

427C5R Motor by Midwest Engine Tech in Mokena, Il, ProCharger F1R 18lbs of boost, Lunatti Rotating, Comp Valve train, AFR 225 Heads, Fast Intake, Kooks Headers, Yank Convertor, Chuck Johnson 4L60E Tranny, custom Big Stuff 3 By Dan Bills, Penski Coil overs on a IRS suspension, B&B PRT Exhaust X-Pipe and mufflers, Dan Bills design, Installation, and Tune!!! Dynos close to 850rwhp! Only run 3 gears on the track.

Not sure if that is all of it but if I'm wrong I'm Jr will chime in to clarify this info. BTW Chris you need to update your Sig! Also where is the video of this crazy wheel stand running that FLT L6?

Congrats to JR and the FLT team for making big progress!!! Cant wait to see your results from the new setup once its sorted out.

FLT's Level 7 is a serious unit. I've been 153.6mph with mine at 4000lbs.

Congrats to all involved!
