Default Broke TCI flexplate?????

Looks like the center section came apart with only 100 miles on it, anyone ever had this happen? Just my damn luck. Always something and makes it worse when its not your fault.

Just have TCI replace it. The CAT is junk too.

Figure out why it broke.
The last time this came up the guy didn't have dowel pins between the engine and transmission.

You have a problem, plain torque did not just rip the center of it out.

Care to elaborate? Or are you just gonna stick with a bullshit blanket statement? The CAT is heavier then most other flexplates, that's the only disadvantage. They are legitimate SFI rated to 13.5k and twice as thick as stock.

Just have TCI replace it
Im going to call them Mon and see what they say and yeah ive been going over everything to see what could have caused this but we cant find anything. I was told to use the tci or csr when i was looking but was told by one guy that the tci's sometimes have issues. I know im not making a god amount of power but it made 900 to the tire and will make a lil more once turned all the way up. What do you mean by dowels between the trans and engine? It has the normal dowels that go in the bellhousing. Idk just want to get the problem fixed and for it not to happen again.

Well 900 to the tire is pretty stout. There is another heavy duty one made also but I can't for the life of me remember who but it was like 4-500 bucks.

Very odd. The center section is .330ths thick and the rest of the flexplate is .170ths thick. It's actually the same thickness as the flexplates we do for turbo and blower cars so the HP is definitely not a factor. Can you email a pic to me? My email is scott@tciauto.com. We will take care of it.

Company I bought it from spoke with someone with TCI today and there sending me a new one. The whole area around the bolts was twisted and cracked from the three 1/4 bolts that hold the spacer piece or whatever to the flexplate. Im not bashing TCI in anyway either, there standing behind there product which alot of companies wont do any more.

To verify im not running a spacer, Im talking about a built in spacer in the flexplate.
