More information?
A 1993 either has a manual or a 700R4.
What are you doing?

93's came with 4l60 and lockup connector. And my700r4 has 4 pin connector. Also my speedo/odometer doesn't work. Are the vss's different.

The 93 model F-body was the last year for the 700R4 (actually termed a 4L60 for that model). The 4L60E debuted in the 1993 trucks and in 1994 for the F-body. You can get a speed sensor from a late model 700R4 for your application. I'd recommend going to a local transmission shop to find a speed sensor. I'm not sure if they're still available from GM or not. As far as the TCC, I like the TCI 376600 kit.

Did your old transmission disappear? LOL. Why not just take the VSS off that? It all swaps over.

You need to have a reluctor wheel on the tailshaft.
Depending on VSS type.

This is where it gets confusing.
The early VSS's used plastic gears. If you see a plastic gear though the speedo hole you can buy one of those but you're going to have to find a driven gear for it, one with a tooth count that matches your rear gear.

Later VSS's are basically magnetic pick up's that get a signal off a reluctor wheel on the output shaft. It looks like a metal gear but it has straight teeth.

Early VSS

Early VSS with the gear that doesn't come with it when you buy a replacement.

Drive gear (not reluctor wheel)

VSS, magnetic pick up type.

Reluctor wheel that goes with the above pick up.

Okay. I'll go look under it tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's the older style. How do I know the tooth count of my rear gear.

The most accurate way is to pull the cover off the rear. There are numbers stamped on the OD of the ring gear, like 41-10 (41/10= 4.10)
If you have a plastic gear on the output shaft it's color coded.

The you take the rear gear and speedo drive gear, put the numbers in an online calculator to find the driven gear tooth count.
