Default do i need the dust cover on the 4l80e

I don't. Have one for it and. A friend said if you leave it off it helps to cool the converter

No it is not required. If the car is a daily driver you might look into it, helps keep rocks out of the flywheel teeth.

If you dont put a lot of miles on it Or drive on salty roads i wouldent give it a secound thought.
