Question about park/neutral switch on a 4l60e
Im doing a ls1/4l60e conversion on my 93 coupe mustang and was wondering does the wireing that comes from the transmission let the computer know the car is in park or in gear or is there a switch on the automatic shifter that comes in the camaro or firebirds that comunicates this to the computer? I have an aftermarket harness for the ls1/4l60e it doesn't have anything to connect to the shifter.

From what I understand the Camaro/ Firebirds do have the switch on the shifter

The transmission does have a PSM (Pressure Switch Manifold) mounted on the valve body. This is the most important, and it's all in your wiring harness. This is the switch that tells your computer when the trans is in P,R,N,D,3,2, or 1.
The switch on the shifter does tell the computer when it's in P,N or in gear. It does reference a few tables in the tune like idle, timing. It'll run ok without it especially if it's tuned knowing the switch isn't there.
It's the switch on the left if you want to look at the wire colors or plug.
