Default Cold shift bogging

Only happens when the drivetrain is cold. Under light acceleration the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts bog and sputter the motor. It's not as noticeable under heavier foot but it's still there. Any ideas as to what might cause this?

I'm not really sure where this problem belongs but I figure if it's during shifts then post it in the transmission section. Mods, if you think it belongs somewhere else, please move it.

Thanks

I would look into an engine problem. The transmission is just putting load on the engine by shifting to a lower ratio which will exaggerate the engine problem.
