We sell a proven FMVB 4L80E transbrake. Look for feedback here on LS1Tech.
They are $500 shipped for a valve body assembly.

You can lock it up in 2nd, 3rd, or OD with Jake's.

Why are you so stuck on RVMB? Why not just turn the shifter around?

im in the same boat. im looking for a rmvb but ive been looking for some reviews on the tci and i cant find any. IMO i think pulling the shifter to upshift is going to be easier and faster than pushing forward. but thats personal preference.

Pulling the shifter to the rear can happen accidently in a fast car, especially coming off a brake.

The RMVB was originally designed because of the circuits used for a transbrake on a TH400. For some reason they have become popular due to the "neat" factor I guess.

I've talked to some other big name builders who have used the TCI, they buy my setup now for what that's worth.

Although they did say it worked, which is more than I can say for some I've tested.

ive got a question. correct me if im wrong. but i plan on putting a ratchet shifter in my car with the new tranny. so if i go with a fmvb that means ill have to shift from park all the way into 1st before i take off. then when i am done driving ill have to go from first all the way up to park. so will i be sitting in the car shifting about 6 times to get the car from 1st into park? and if i had a rmvb 1st would be right below neutral so it would be way easier to get into park or reverse. ive never used a ratchet shifter so im still trying to learn how they all work.

Thats the main reason is i have a shifter already.. my car is so light with my th400 and 2.73 gears i could drive around in 3rd with no probs..

Buddy has the tci, sucks not being able to lock the converter in anything but OD! And Billet input shafts break in half on the street, stock ones are fine!

Could please someone in short explain what is transbrake (besides it locks fwd and reverse together) and what is manual valve body? I'm new to this, but sold my T56 planning to install 4L80E.
Is it $500 for MVB with transbrake?
Also what is the shift pattern with such setup?
Thanks!

It locks 1st gear and reverse together (or you can call it 1st and 3rd, same set of clutches/bands). This allows you to floor the motor (and either bring it up against the converter or a 2-step box) and it increases your reaction time (letting go of a button is much quicker than pushing the pedal to the floor AND releasing the footbrake). And also for 95% of the users out there, it dramatically decreases your 60' time too.

Jake's transbrake is a forward pattern (same pattern as stock).

And manual valve body allows both automatic and manual changing gears?
Transbrake is expensive part and MVB is around 100-200$?
What is TransGo shift kit? Would it be needed with TB + MVB?

No. They are 2 seperate valvebodies. One is full manual (for cars without computer trans control) and full auto (PCM can control the 4L80E).

However, it is possible to tune the PCM to act just like a full manual, if you wish to do so.

Correct, the transbrake is the expensive part.

Transgo has their own full manual valvebody, but it turns the valvebody into swiss-cheese, so to speak. It does work, however they do not have a transbrake for it.

Transgo has redesigned their full manual kit. I haven't used it since the redesign since we have our own full manual setup now, but I may be able to make the transgo full manual kit a transbrake, I would have to see it.

ThransGo HD2 shift kit that I often see mentioned - what is it? Does it add any new functionality, or just makes shifting "sportier"? Or I don't need it at all if I want manual control and transbrake?

So I either buy manual VB and then PCM can't change gears, or I stay "full-auto" and then I can't manually change gears?
