Default th400 install help!

hey, im in the middle of installing a th400 in a 2001 camaro. I am using a huges flexplate set up for bolting a th400 to a ls1 and have a yank lt1 converter. The thing is, is that when i put the converter against the flexplate, the shaft of the converter only goes into the crank a small amount. Is that okay or does it need to go all the way into the crank?

How far? Can you take a pic of it? I had to use an adapter that is inserted into the flexplate and then the converter shaft went in to it. It is a TCI flexplate.
