I have a design that works like the "Stageright" 200-4r brake. It engages in manual low and releases when you move the shifter.

So this would be very similar to your 80 brake if I had to guess minus the grounding of the shift solenoid? How about adding a solenoid to the equation and making it a forward pattern auto with a manual option? Just a thought. Vince

I would prefer using a solenoid to operate it.
I can do the "stageright" style without issue.

I have a solenoid style figured out except the exhaust becomes an issue. Exhausting the 3rd circuit on transbrake release or 3-2 downshift is the problem.

The 4L80E valve body works completely different, so the 400 brake has little in common except it applies the band and 3rd clutches to activate the brake.

Jake, I am interested in a th400 transbrake that is forward shift pattern. Why is that so hard to do in a th400. All you can find is reverse pattern TB's.
