I am ready to go this route as the lowest cost solution to hold 560rwhp, have automatic(with a vacuum modulator), fit more easy than a 4L80E and sacrafice the overdrive.

All the info is about LSX - not for an LT-1 swap
TH400 - I'll figure the tailhousing/speedo out from the stickies.

What convertor do I buy? Custom for the LT-1 flexplate/crank?


Can I buy an old school TH400/3600 stall from a BBC/SBC?
will these bolt to a 95 LT-1? (Eagle crank 383)
then adapt the driveshaft/crossmember/speedo/tune out my A4 from the PCM?

Any non LS1 transmission will bolt right up to an LT1. That includes the 4L80E.
