I'm going to order a Yank ss 4000 stall, mt et streets, tranny cooler, and new flex plate! Anything else I should get for the new stall? I know I'll need tranny fluid. lol

Some standard head TC bolts...the stock ones are a pain in the *** and you might ruin them getting them out.

Should I replace the tranny filter while I'm at it? I would think so. Car has 50k on it.

Yes, new filter.

Might consider getting a truck pan and filter, it's deeper so it holds more fluid. More fluid can help reduce temps.

Should be able to get one used for $20-50. If you do, get a truck filter...it's deeper and the stock one won't work

They come with the converter.

OP, consider a tranny temp gauge. You can pull the pan, replace the fluid and filter and run the pan up to the muffler shop and have them weld your bung in your stock pan while its off. Nothing more valuable then actually knowing what your trans temp is at all times.

Nice suggestion, the C5s come with one stock and they're good to have. I always like to keep an eye on it.

Bingo!!! Less heat will be good for you and that trans. Pan will work great and clear bumps etc if car is not lowered easily.

The gauge is helpful for a lot of reasons. If you are overworking yours trans you can see it. You can see how the ambient temps change the trans temp and can tell if your cooler is working correctly or adequately. You can monitor cool downs at the track before you choose to run again, or hot lap and know that your are not overheating the trans. Its just such a handy device.
