Default m6 to a4 wiring questions

So i believe i will be doing an m6 to a4 swap soon. going from my t56 to a 4l60e. I've been reading for hours on all the threads I could find so for starters i have a few questions about wiring. In the opinion of those who have done this...what is the EASIEST way to take care of the wiring? I will have the a4 harness from a 98' trans am. Will i retain my m6 pcm? I've read that you can reflash the pcm...if so how do i do this? i have hptuners. Thanks

You can't use a 1998 harness on a 2001 car. It physically won't fit.

How do you reflash the PCM? You go to hp tuners bin repository and download a stock tune for the same car you have with an A4. Then upload it into your PCM with a rewrite entire. When you do this is will change the function of certain pins on the PCM.

For the wiring I'd add the A4 wiring to the PCM plug, the interior wiring is going to have to be added as needed, it's not worth tearing the old stuff out IMO.

Just finished mine, let me know what questions you have with the wiring. Heck, anything for that matter. Jay will square you away too.
