What torque/stall converter to buy
I have a 04 GTO with a 228/230 duration and .585 in lift cam, new heads and other performance parts, putting out 420 hp to the wheels, when it was tuned they said i needed a new stall converter but didn't have the money at the time so they set the idle speed higher than normal so that the engine would stay running when i put it in drive.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which one and what stall speed i should get?

I would talk to Circle D or Yank about something in the 3600-4000 range. They should be able to set you up based on what you want to do with the car.
If it were mine, I would do a SS3600. My car is similar in weight to a GTO and I basically daily drive my car so it works perfect.
If you are more track only oriented a 4000 might be better suited.

didn't know there was any other than Yank.......
if most street I will suggest SS 3600/2.3 STR,
with 231/237 595/598 on 112
I run SS4000/2.6 ( I ran ST3500/2.3 for about 6 years)
just my .02' Johnny

I have nearly the same cam in my car. I run a TCI3500. However, I bought mine used and when I sent it back to them to go through it, I told them to make it a little looser. I would say it around a 38 or so. I have no complaints with mine, but if I were to do it again, I would probably get a Yank or a Vig.
