Default TH350 with brake

Have a 454 powered 73 Nova with a TH350 and am getting all kinds of advice NOT to put a brake in it. My transmission guy says it's not a good idea. My 95 Z28 has a TH400 and I have a spare from my 62 Chevy II with a brake I may stuff in it. It's the type you can use reverse without holding the button and that's what I was after for the TH350.

If there is a thread on this please point me to it.

the pro tree brake is the type that requires button for reverse...as per brake on th350 tci does it everyday.. if a major trans company puts them together and puts warranty on there product why would it not be safe?

T-brakes on TH350s tend to be cranky and longevity becomes an issue. I think it has been said for racing, it can be inconsistant. I am just providing what has been mentioned time and again. I had considered going TH350 due to the parasitic loss being less but was warned when mentioning installing a T brake. IF I can find some relevant posts, I'll pass them along.

As for the OP, I would ask your trans guy more directly on why, maybe just for understanding, if nothing else.
