Default Question of the week Stall or Gears

Ok heres the question. Which way would you go??? Add a stall convertor or lower gears?? I have 3.23s in an 02 SS and I know the stall will pick it up more than some 3.73 gears but is the stall the way to go or not for the money. I can get some new 3.73s installed out the door for $500.00 to $600.00. The stall will cost twice that after u figure flexplate and cooler and everything else and of course your stock 4l60e will go out after the install. Is the gear worth it or is the stall worth it. What is the most bang for the money? Please chime in if you have experience either way. Opinions please.

I'd go with a stall. I just had a stall and cam put in and my transmission gave out right after, but it has almost 125K miles and never been touched.

in the gear department, you stated your interested in 3.73s'. In the stall department, you DIDN'T state what stall your interested in.
The question you put out has been debated, debated, debated.
3.23s' to 3.73s' isn't much of a change, but it is the most popular gear change for A4s'. 'SOTP' will feel better, mpg will drop 1-2,1/4 will drop maybe .1-.2.
stall, more popular than gears, might irritate you in city driving but you WILL get used to it very quickly, city mpg will drop slightly, freeway mpg should be unchanged,1/4 could drop by as much as .5 depending upon what stall you had in mind.
doing BOTH is the way to go,3.73s' and a 3500/3600(seems most popular).
you put a stall in first and then later put in gears, that stall will seemed to have tightened up and it does due to new mechanical advantage.
