Default V6 vs v8 4l60

Tried a search with no luck, was wondering if a tranny out of a 6 cyl car is same as the ls1 car or if it will work. I have a v8 but trans took a dump and need something to swap in cheap for now while I build mine.

So would a 2wd truck trans work? Out of something with a 5.3, or trailblazer with a 4.2?
