Default Problems with 2-3 shift in 4l60E

I've got a 94 formula with a 4l60E and it just started having some issues. It goes 1-2 ok and then 2-3 but then slips back into 2nd and then goes right back to 3rd and just goes back and forth and then sometimes will slip all the way down to 1st and stay there a for a few seconds. Not really sure what's going on if it's a solenoid or maybe the valve body. But the speedo also reads funny it reads way too low and then will go all the way down to 0 and back and it kind of bounces a little bit.

Basically I'm wanting to know if you guys have had something like this happen or have any idea. I'm hoping it's something I can fix without having to buy another tranny. Thanks guys.

Zach

I think your VSS is the reason why you are having issues. I would get this fixed and I' pretty sure your issues will be solved. Vince

Yes I will agree with Vince , The VSS thats causing your speedo to act crazy is also the source of your trans odd behaviour .

So I checked the connector on the VSS and it was covered in oil...so I cleaned it and put a new rubber seal on it and it has not given me a problem since. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the follow up. Good to hear you got it fixed! You might want to consider changing the sensor because I would question as to why the connector was full of oil. Vince
