flt level4 binding up
last oct i ordered a flt level4 transmisson with yank ss4000 converter and trans cooler with a b&m deep pan for my winter build. i competely rebuilt my whole car. 12 bolt, new 347, all new suspension ,new brakes, rims tires. so i finished the car in apirl waited to get tune done end of apirl made 490 to the wheels on a super flow dyno. which i guess dyno's high. anyhow with all the rain in the north east my first time to the track last night. car went 11.74 on a 1.63 60ft. and it felt odd in the trans. like binding up. never did that before the car was still hot from the 90min drive. so i let it cool for 45min. go again. this time 11.2 with a 1.5860ft. just a little binding in 2nd. let cool for 15 min track was closing. so one last pass and went to launch and it only had 2nd gear. with car in od.. made it like 100ft and let out out of it. the whole time check the fuild. was full and didnt smell brunt at all. so by the time everone was ready to go home like 30 min. i take it for a little drive down the return road seemed fine. so we start home car drives perfect. so this morn try it on the street and car was great shifted fine.. i dont know were to start to look??

What do you mean by binding up?
I have a FLT Level 3, and Yank SS3600. I was running my wife's stock maf/SLP Lid for a while, and got it tuned with them on the car. I swapped my original lid/maf on and I was getting some strange shifts, and in 3rd gear it felt like it would almost bog down the engine. As soon as i swapped back to my wife's MAF the problems were gone. Both mafs were stock GM, just different brand lids and mine was descreened by the previous owner.
I never realized how critical the MAF was to the trans, so that may be a good place to look.

Actually it sounds like the car went into limp mode due the converter and yes if it goes into limp with the setup FLT uses it will bind up in manaul first in limp mode. I think if you scan you will find you have PO757 code stored in history. Its not a real code so dont go replacing the 2-3 solenoid just yet. Its a comon code caused by the PCM being confused by the stall and the test for it needs to be deleted from the tune.

OK. This is not going away. Still kick in limp mode I guess with no ses lights at all. The codes are deleted. My tuner telling me it the transmission. And now my 6month warranty is up. Really upset with this whole thing

Normal driving its fine. Just when I floor it.. it wants to go to 2nd and stays in it untill I shut the car off. I'm calling them Monday and see what help I can get. Nothing worse then spending 20k and can't run your car. That's the reason I went with them. I never hear anything bad about them.

90% chance you have a tune problem, not a tranny problem. You spent a lot of money on your car, but you failed to purchase the most essential part in the bin - a tuning program.
I had limp mode issues after going up to a Yank SS3600 from a TCI SF3000. In my case, I had to tune out P0757 as above, also P0502 -VSS circuit low voltage (which had nothing to do with voltage, the VSS was confused by my stall and tires) and one or two others that I don't remember offhand.
Get the proper tuning done for your setup and then see how your FLT works

Well the car was tuned by a professional. I don't have a the program is what I meant to say. Its only a problem with 2nd gear I think. It binds up then when it hits 3rd its like a different car. And then after that the next pass it does the "LIMPMODE" thing when I only have 2nd gear. Been to the track 2 times same results both times. Yet normal driving shift and feels fine.

Who is the profesional? It really sounds like it's in the tune to me. Before I got my car tuned for the stall it was banging the rev limiter and stuff. Maybe try a mailorder tune if nothing else
