Default TCC unlock switch help

I just bought a 2000 SS Camaro with a 4l60 , 3600 lockup converter and 410 gears. As far as i know the cam is stock.Problem is that the that the tranny shifts real quick and the converter locks up by 30mph.The other problem is that when the converter locks under moderate throttle it chatters real bad.Im sure the converter is bad and i want to wait till winter to change it.How can i wire the brake switch to keep the converter unlocked until i reach highway speeds? Ive searched and i can't find it.Thank you for the help.

You need more line pressure to the TCC at low pedal. Stock tune puts
too little for an aftermarket converter with a wimpy clutch, and TCC
duty as modified by "slip learning" helps none.

Hacking the harness to add a switch is not really the way to go, it
can all be fixed with simple tune changes.

But if you really need to cut and solder (or be a real hero and use
vampire taps, that's the sexy) you could open the TCC solenoid
wire with a switch. Might cause a fault code, I dunno. The TCC
solenoid is grounded to engage the TCC.

The problem you're going to run into is that while you're waiting for winter to come around before digging into it, the converter clutch is steadily eating itself up. And because it is fibrous it will be shedding debris into the fluid, which will end up clogging the filter. It's just the nature of the beast. I would not recommend installing any switch in order to defeat TCC commands.. I would go ahead and bite the bullet for a decent converter and take it from there.

Not, saying it's going to grenade on you, but apparently the damage is done. If it's the original stock converter... it has far exceeded it's intended lifespan.
