Default Correct installation of ARP flexplate bolts?

My new ARP bolts seem to have some kind of lube on them, but from what I read, when you use thread-locker such as loctite, threads should be clean and dry. So how do I correctly install the bolts? Should I clean the bolts? Why did ARP put it at all?

Clean the bolts good, and the threads on the converter pads.

I just wonder why ARP puts this stuff on, I doubt it's without reason

I'm still a bit cautious, ARP says to use lube or oil on the threads. If I clean them dry and put just a drop of loctite, threads will not be lubricated the same as if I'd put oil on them, and bolts will remain seriously undertightened... Or am I completely wrong?

ARP is in the high performance fastener business. Listen to what they recommend. Period.

ARP lubricates their fasteners at the factory so that they do not rust or set up a micro corrosion situation before installation.

If your car makes enough power to warrant aftermarket flexplate or flywheel bolts, you should be checking them regularly anyway. It's just the nature of the beast bud. We check converter bolts after each trip to the track in our big tire, big nitrous cars. Not saying you should do it that often, but you should add checking those bolts to your regular maintenance regimen.

So it's oil on threads, not dry threads with a drop of loctite, like most here recommend?
