Default Vendors? I need a stock torque converter?

I am putting one of my cars back to stock before selling. Car currently has a built trans with a 3800 stall and I doubt the general public would be interested in how that drives so on to the specifics. The car is a 96 firebird lt1 with 4l60e. My stock converter from before the trans build is long gone.

I'm wondering if there is a vendor here that can sell me a good stock converter for it without breaking the bank? I seem to remember seeing some in the 75-100 range awhile back.

Any help appreciated.

I live in northern IL 61525, the car is currently in storage in southern IL 62930 near the Kentucky border.

Shipping would be a little much. I would suggest just checking locally to see what is available.

Try the parts wanted section. People give stock torque converters away everyday.

Is there anything I should look for in particular? I know the function of the lock up clutch changed to pwm for 96-97. Should I be looking for one of those or will any 94-97 style 60e converter will work? Will the one from his 93 700r4 work for me?

The only reason you need an older style converter is because of the build height and the input spline difference. The functions of the lockup dont matter. It just needs to physically bolt up correctly.
