Default 96 4L60E behind LQ4

I want to put the 4l60e i built which is from a 96 truck with the K case. i was wondering if i could just put a input shaft from a 98+ 4l60e

No the input will not work with what you are trying to do. The issue is that the later LS1 units (98^) used a deeper bell, longer stator tube and also the input shaft you mentioned. You can use what you have. However you will have to get a custom converter with longer pilot or get an adapter to make the pilot longer. HTH Vince
