Default with my Vig3200.....

I have a Vig3200 going in soon with a 2.5str. Now that i know what STR is I am going to be hitting the rear with like 600+ ponies! that seems like a ton. Most of my driving is cruzing with the occasional street run, but nuthn serious. With a STR like that should i go with a TA girdle?? Should I even run Drag radials? or will i be sweeping up my rear end
I have a cooler goin in with it, but I would like to give extra support if i can....
All input is welcome
thanks J

Your stock rear should do fine even with nittos.Just avoid wheel hop it will kill it.

New lca's and possibly relocation brackets should do the trick. All I run is SFC's and Adj PHB and I have no wheelhop problems running DR's.

Yup, wheelhop is your enemy. A nice LCA, TA, and Relocation brackets, and Nittos help.

LCAs will kill wheelhop...also automatics can launch HARD and not break rears....the rear is preloaded when you stall it up at the line which is much less punishing then dropping the clutch at 4000+ rpm on a slack driveline....the onyl rear i ever broke was a result of blipping the throttle down a sidestreet at nite...apparantly i didnt see the bumps...

Where is the 600hp coming from? Nitrous? Looks like 300hp with the mods in your list.

I use that convertor with full boltons+cam and spray on a nitto...I've never broken a rearend while launching.

str multiplys the tq output...in his case by 2.5...back to his origonal post the first mods i did to the car were a girdle & stud kit...i think its a must have to keep a 10 bolt together...that said you should be fine there are people in the 10's with 10 bolts and auto's so dont worry too much about it.

any $$ put into the 10 bolt is a waste. if it breaks, fix it or the money saved towards the new 12/9/8.8 rear

t/a girdle is pretty, but when the zexel throws a bolt, it will make a purty hole in it.

"t/a girdle is pretty, but when the zexel throws a bolt, it will make a purty hole in it."

thats why you use the studs to replace the bolts
