Default stall recommendations

i've currently got a yank pro 3600 stall in my car. its a 93 rx7 stock ls1. ported 5.3 heads fast 92/92. yank said the stall is too tight for my car and that it would not see any thing out of this converter unless i starting making around 800 horses. Im looking for another stall and wanted to know what some of you are running. Im thinking a 3600 would still be a good stall speed just wanting to see what some of you are running.

Of course its not gonna work, you prolly got it used and it was spec'd for an f-body which is a lot heavier. Send it in for a restall so it is correct for your application.

he said the stall will not reach its potential till 800 horses... that its just too tight for my amount of horsepower

Shouldnt they have taken care of that when they were restalling it?

I would have picked the SS 4000 myself. Most popular LS converter. To restall it and tell you it wont work is kinda lame. I would at least want a recommendation of what will.

Pretty sure that isn't the whole story.

he recommended the ss3600. i bought this one off here. guess i assumed all 3600 stalls were the same and this would be a stronger one and would last in my car. just seems like a lot of money to sell this one and drop that much more money on another 3600.... I was just curious to see what brand some of you were running
