Default Why would my 98 z28 a4 hold 6500 under WOT?!

Please move this if its in the wrong place. I want as much reply's as I can get. Anyway me and my dad had a little thanksgiving showdown. He went in his T/A and I went in my car. Started at a 20-30 roll then hit in. I had mine in OD. At around 80-85mph My car was holding 6500Rpms. So i'm thinking no big deal it will bounce off like always. Well it held it long enough then I let off. This is really odd to me. I have no idea why it would do that? My trans always has and still does shift very nicely. Nothing done like my rev limiter turned off. I have taking this car to 120 in OD Under WOT And never had this problem. Did it miss a shift or something? Is it even possible for the pcm to do that? lol... I was gonna take it out again today and see if it did it again. I'm all freaked out because the last thing I wanna do is pay for my crap in this car....

some autos have a mind of there own, i agree that the trans could need some work in the near future,do another 6500 , if it has issues it will tell you lol, 5700 imo was taking it easy lol

1. could the fluid been really cold?
2. you didn't say if you lost or not (or what the consequences were.....)
3. is there any chance you were stuck in 3rd and not OD?

I have no idea why. I really think cars in this day of age can do weird things with all the computer stuff they have now. Maybe it acted up that one time. I took it out later that night and it never did it again. And for the race results we hit it at 20mph and took it to 80something. ( thats when i let off due to my issue) He had really maybe 3feet on me the whole time. When I punched it I spun he dint. My car is lid,borla,160sat 152k. His car is lid,and his running a 3inch dump. No mufflers and a diablo race tune with 93k on his engine. His is a 99 T/A. I have a BBK intake manifold coming I ordered. I should be able to pull him after that. Really its the same result every time me and him race. Who ever gets the first jump wins. I think I would of won if I dint spin at first

I had mine spin to 7000rpms. No problems for a while then it went out after a crap load of hard runs and it being a DD car.
