Default Do High Stall Convetors..Feel like Slipping clutches sometimes?

I test drove a high Horspower car 400rwp car on Motor..and 500rwhp on the bottle...The car had at 3100 -3200 Edge Nitrous Stall convertor...

The Owner told me it was tuned to between 35-40 mph to have a spot where if felt where the clutches felt like they were slipping( or the car would jerk a little right there), or the car wanted to shift etc..This just under normal driving and just at this speed.

I don't know much about Auto's.I've had one built auto with A PI 3000 Stall and it never did this so I'm wondering if this was normal on higher Stalled cars, or is it the convertor etc....

Ive never experienced this issue when driving any car with an aggressively sized torque converter installed. Ive personally used several Edge Racing converters and never experienced the issues you are describing.

Not really. Slipping clutches flare RPM without any more
torque (acceleration) resulting, a converter's RPM rise
is attended by more torque multiplication.

I think somebody's tune sucks. Or something.

Thanks guys...I honestly wasn't sure...I talked to a couple of my Ford buddies and they said this wasn't normal either...That really sucks though because it was a nice car.
