A shift kit and tuning will help some.

Gears help a little more. Just because you don't go to the track doesn't mean a stall is a bad idea. A 3200-3600 would be good for a dd. If I ever get a new trans I'll get a 3800-4000 stall in my dd a4

Shift kit for what you want is a complete waste. Find a competent tuner to adjust your pressure tables in the tune and the trans will perform like it has a shift kit without all the hassle and expense.

I only recommended the shift kit since it would be good to have down the Ed when adding a stall. But op listen to 01SS. He's right

I'm lucky to see the track a handful of times a year. I LOVE my Yank SS4k! Seriously, I smile everytime I get on the throttle just a little bit. I'll love it even more this spring with the 9" and not having to worry about breaking anything.

Frost tuned the **** outta my stock 120k mile trans with a mail order tune before the blower and dyno tune. It would bark the **** outta 2nd @ half throttle with 315 sumitomos and 3.23 gears. I also had poly control arms and SFC's at the time.

Transgo, cooler and a truck pan are excellent upgrades for your trans and can be installed with trans in the car.

Truck pans cut down on ground clearance. Remember concrete>metal.
