Default Torque Converter Install Quote

I went to a local transmission shop that seem really friendly and asked how much it would cost to get a 3200-3600 stall torque converter installed on my Formula. The owner said including filter and fluid it would cost $450-$500 and then running a trans cooler would be another $150-$200. Pretty sure I could get a friend to help with the tranny cooler but unless I can get someone nearby that has converter install experience I'd rather have it done professionally. Is that a good price on the install?

I got a 500 quote from my local AAMCO for just the converter install. I decided to do it myself and save the money, its not too difficult all I had was a 2 ton jack and two 2 ton jackstands and I made it work.

I'm getting to the point now where I dont trust anybody anymore to work on my car. Especially with the converter you have to measure and make sure the clearances are right.

I'm sure it's going to vary depending on what part of the country you live in. Cost of services is not the same in the entire USA.
