Default 4L60e vibration

Okay I have a 97 z28, with a possible transmission vibration. I know its not the rear end or driveshaft because it vibrates in park within the 2000-2700 rpm range. After that it smooths out. It is a lot worse when i let of the gas though. First thing I did was take poly trans mount off and supported the tranny with a jack and held a little pressure on the transmission. The vibration was significantly less and was only in the 2000-2400 rpm range. There is also a VERY slight ticking noise coming from around the torque converter area. So what do yall think? Is the vibration coming from the transmission or the engine area. It seems like if it was a motor mount or something like that it would vibrate a lot less then it does and not just as those certain rpms. The engine also doesnt "jump" when i put it in gear, so i'm doubtful its motor mounts. Thanks in advance! -Kyle

There is very little that could go out of balance within the trans without it breaking.
These vibrations are usually related to a bad trans mount, or a cracked flexplate.
