Bouncing off rev limiter at 6700-6800 rpms
Well i just received my PCM back from Frost and I have a couple questions regarding my shifting.
Ok, as I cruising around at say 50mph, I put the shifter manually into 2nd, it doesnt change anything. I have to rev motor up to 3400 rpms for it to began to move. Same thing in 3rd.
Now as I have the shifter in OD, im cruising at 40mph, I floor it and it downshifts to 2nd, as the rpms start climbing they climb all the way to 6700-6800 roms and proceed to bounce off the rev limiter. It bounces about 8 times and then bangs into 3rd gear. I just cant EVER seem to get into 3rd gear without bouncing off rev limiter. What in the hell

Make sure your fluid is correct. I know its said so many times and its simple but my car used to bounce off the limiter when it was low .5-1 qrt. Auto trans does funny things when its low enough.
One more thing. All those big chicks in your avatars make me not want to enter your threads anymore LOL

I bought this trans used from a guy. He "said" it had 70K miles on it. Also the converter is red, I don't know if it is a stall or not. I looked up some numbers on it and it came back as a stock converter for trucks and cars. 1600-1800. Also when I put the converter in i ended up breaking the front pump and replaced it with my old pump from my old trans. i dont know how this tranny shifted before the tune.

I had the same problem with very small transmission leak. I originally thought I had a rear main seal leak as it didn't leak much. It really only leaked under heavy load . It ended up being a small crack in my Vigilante converter (found only after pressure testing the converter). Replaced with a Circle D converter and runs better than it ever has.
