Default older 4l80e to ls motor

I work at a salvage/recycle yard and one our customers brought it in a tranny case and on the side said 4l80e. This shocked me so I asked him what it came out of and he said 95 chevy truck. Now this shocked me as well as i thought 4l80e's came with the ls motors. So after work I with through a yard and found 2 older 4l80e's in the yard one to a big block and the other to 6.5t which after searching has the same bolt pattern as sbc/bbc. How hard is it to adapt this to an ls motor? Also will the ls computer run this just with a 60e to 80e conversion wiring?

It'll bolt up just fine minus the top bolt. There's some minor differences but I run the older style. Some say the older units are better

4L80E came out in 1991. Up to 1998 they had both Speed Sensors on the Trans itself in the 2wd Models. 1999-up they had the other Speed Sensor in the Rear Diff and the Reluctor Wheel was not on the Drum.

The newer ones had a better Sprag..forgot what year exactly.

A. you just bumped an 8 year old thread
B. I see it is your first post, so you joined just to ask this. Please read the forum rules
C. yes any 4l80e can work with a "gen4" aka "P59" ecu if properly wired and flashed
