Default trans cooler question

So I just had my m6 t/a changed to a stalled 3600 4l60e. My question is my mechanic said just running a trans cooler would be fine instead of me buying a radiator with tranny lines. Is a cooler enough??

Yep, just get a larger one... some are made to supplement the oem cooler and some are stand alone... Pic up a Hayden from the auto parts store.. they run about $55 for a nice size one...

It really depends on what cooler and where you live. Down south I would run biggest possible. Up here in new england I get away with a flex a lite fin and tube 20,000 gvw. It still will get up to 180s-190s if im beating on it. I might go to a big b@m this year.
