Default Transmission went out! "Need advice"!

I have a 2000 z28 and like I said in the title my trany went out the other day... :'( I don't want to have to replace it again so I want something that will stand up to hard use. I've been looking at maybe getting a 4l60e from monster trans or maybe a 4l80e swap. I would really like to do a t-56 conversion, but I've heard that can be kinda pricey... Any advice? Suggestions?

Getting a built 4l60e from any sponsor on here is where it's at if you don't feel like changing anything to make a 4l80e work or even more so a t-56 conversion.

Look at what some of the sponsors are offering in terms of 4l60e's esp. RPM and FLT and see if they can help you out. They both make killer trannys.

Good guys at RPM if you want a 60e or 80e. I am Th400 though, that was the best/cheapest route for me when I killed my 60e.

How hard is it to swap to a 4l80e?

What are your mods and plans? An 80e is a pretty serious investment, and may not be completely necesary. It also adds weight to the car.

You can get a well built 60e to handle that. Just like NVR_SPDS said, and 80e I'd a big investment and it might be over kill.

I have a new RPM Level 7 4L60 transmission that I need to sell ASAP. You will not break this transmission. PM me for details. It is at RPM and they can ship it to you.
