Question Swapped from A4 to TH400 and not starting/cranking

Ok, the car is an 01 Z28. We put in a 5.3L T76mm/TH400. We are going to use a Hurst Quarter stick. So we took out the stock shifter assembly. So we go to start it tonight and NOTHING. There is 12V going to the (red wire) connected to the starter and 0V going to the smaller (purple wire) to the starter. when we turn the key the starter wont turn over, i have manually jumped it out of the car on the bench and it works fine. When I hook it up to the car it can't even jump it with a screwdriver. No sparks or anything......Please help

Did you hook the netural safety switch back up on the shifter.
The start relay will not pull in if these wires are not connected to the shifter or you can tie them together but the car will start in gear.
Let me go see which 2 wire are the safety sw.

There will be 6 wires at the shifter on one plug I think.
The Dark Green wire and Purple/White Stripe are your PNP or net. safety sw.
The Purple/White is your 12 volts from the Start Fuse 15 amp.
The Dark Green wire goes to your Start Only Coil.
There are some open contacts on the shifter, where these 2 wires go.
You can tie these 2 wires together and make the Start Only Coil pull in, but it will pull in in any gear.

Make sure you have 12 volts to your Purple/White wire.
If not the fuse may be blown. It's the Start Fuse in the #2 Fusebox under the hood.
15 amp.
The way this circuit works is, From your IGN switch is a big Yellow wire going to the 15 amp Start Fuse. Off this fuse is your Purple/White wire. It goes to the PNP sw at the shifter. The other side of the PNP sw is the Dark Green wire, it goes to your Start Only Relay. It pulls your relay in. The other side of the relay is grounded by the BCM.
Do you still have your BCM?

The Big Purple wire at the starter comes off the relay to pull in the solenoid.
The way the big Purple wire get's it's hot is from the 50 amp fuse in the same #2 fusebox. Called the IGN Fuse. Make sure that fuse is good.

You can PM me if you like. I have alot of notes on the electrical part of these cars.
I don't know all but I do know alot.

If you ran them together it blew the fuse

That will not blow your fuse.
Tieing the 2 wires together completes the circuit to the start relay.
The BCM sends a ground to the other side of the relay. The BCM is part of your VATS. If it's not satisfied, it will not send the ground to the relay.

I got to mess with the car a little today, it seems I do have power to the purple/white wire!

Not sure if I'm supposed to have 12v's to the green wire but I don't?

All the fuses/relays are good!

EDIT:

Turns out i forgot to hook up the ground wires on the back of the head, she fires up with no issues now!

Thanks guys for all the help!

They go to your PCM and afew other places in your harness.
You also have acouple of grounds on the inside of the car by each kick panel.
They are for your I/P Fusebox, BCM, and ect.
Glad you got it running.
