Default Break-in time?

Hi LS1Tech.

I will soon make a tranny swap to a new rebuild Lvl 2 4L60.
Everything is set and ready, but then I wonder if there is som kind of break-in time, or break-in milage you have to do on a new rebuild tranny, before you step hard on pedal?

Thanx

Unless you have a new converter going in you should be good. Just make sure that the tranny has the right amount of fluid.

There will be a new heavy duty converter (1800-2000 stall).

Then what?

Drive it easy for a while. Yank suggests 150-300 miles depending on their model you buy. Just drive it normal so that it gets used to usual load before going WOT and whatnot.

Thanx.. Another question:

The bellhousing bolts, and TC bolt, is it a good idea to add som loctite or is it unnecessary ?
Maybe the loctite will show the torque before it's really reached? Just a thought...

I'm pretty sure you'll want loctite on them. Bolts coming out from those areas are not a good thing. I would suggest the blue loctite so they can be removed but will stay in place otherwise. I'll let others chime in though, I haven't actually done it yet myself, I've been researching for a long time though.

I didn't put any loctite on my bell housing bolts when I put my new tranny in but use the blue thread sealer on the converter bolts.
