I have a 2000 ws6 a4 with 3.23 i have the hypertech powerprogrtamer. How many mph should i raise my 1-2 2-3 3-4 shifts for optimal quarter mile performance

I have 3.73's and went 1-2 +4 , 2-3 +6, 3-4 + 14.

In your case would raise it only a little. I also have mine at a 6400rpm rev limiter

What other mods do you have? I have the same gears and I have been wondering what shift points to use. How are your part throttle shifts? Did they improve any?

you are going to have to do this at the track to answer your question. every car/track/combo will be different. My bet was 1-2+3, 2-3+1, 3-4+1 but doen't matter cause the car is in 3 at the end of the quarter. I tried extending further like camaro98z28 and my car sowedd down. I have 3.73 also. When I had 3.23 the same points worked best for me.
go racing and change between runs. I suggest change one gear at a time to see each improvement.

If you don't have any stiffer valve springs I wouldn't suggest changing the rev limiter. Stock is at 6200. The stock cam flatlines at around 5200-5500 anyway. I bumped my shift points up 1mph on the 1-2 shift and 1mph on the 2-3 shift also. Anything higher and it would hit the rev limiter right before it shifted. An aftermarket cam and springs and you could up the shift points with good results I would say. Hope this helps, just my .02

I agree, the factory rev limiter is right where it should be. Any higher and you start getting valve float. I have a freind who destroyed an engine doing this. I believe he had his limiter set at 6400 or 6500. It didnt take long either...

Thanks for all the help. I set my Rev limiter at 6200rpm. I'll leave that alone. Now I need to work on the shift points. I just did a stall (2800) converter and it has really played hell with the shift points. I hit the rev limiter in 2nd-3rd shift. I guess ill need to back that one down.

Thanks,
