Default Safe Shift Point...

Hey guys. My 00 z/28 is basically stock, except for Flowmasters and a k&n filter. It is an automatic with .273s. I used a Hypertech III tuner and eliminated rev limiter and top speed limiter. Now it revs up to around 6800 rpms before it shifts. Is this safe, or can it do damage? Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the help.

There is no point in having it shift that high with stock manifolds, intake, cam, and heads... your way beyond your peak power.

I realize that now. Just wondering if it will be harmful until I can change it back.

Stock valve springs/pushrods suck. Keep your shifts conservative for now.

Thanks for the input. What is a safe point to shift?

6100 is far enough, and you may wanna set it to 6000 that way if the tranny is a little slow it wont rev much further before shifting.
