Default Driveshaft hard to remove/install

Recently, I dropped the rear of my driveshaft because the torque arm slipped out and cracked the transmission tailhousing in half. In doing so the rearend straps gave up and let the driveshift go. Since then we replaced the tailhousing and pinion flange. However, The driveshaft is hard to remove and install it at the slip yoke (tried two driveshafts both the same). It can be done but a hammer is needed.

I am wondering if I may have damaged the transmission tailshaft....Any thoughts?

Thanks

it might be possible that with the new tail housing and seals, the drive shaft is sliding on a dry seal making it difficult to slide in/out. try putting some ATF on the input yoke and see if that helps.
