Default Wire harness plug pushes into trans case

I recently picked up a remanned 4L60, and when I was mocking up my wire harness I plugged the pigtail into the trans. I noticed that the end on the trans, where the pigtail plugs in, pushes into the trans pretty easily. Is this normal? It seems like it should snap into the case and stay put... is something broken?

There should be plastic clips that grab the case if the harness is all the way out. If they are broken then you might need to change the harness.

The clips are still there, I guess they just lost their tension. If I bend them out with a little screwdriver it stays a bit better, but I can still push it in. I suppose it's time to replace it.

And Sonnax makes bracket #77980-01K to hold the connector in even if it has weak/broken clips:

Only $2.50:

(Or about $5.50 on ebay with free shipping.)

No doubt that replacing the harness is a good idea. You could use the mentioned bracket from sonnax or clean everything up real good with brake clean and silicone the connector in place. Let it dry for 24 hours and you should be good to go.
