Take it to a tranny/converter shop and have them cut it open and clean it out.

So How would one go about flushing the solvent out? Just fill it up with ATF, swirl it around, and drain it a few times? Or it there a better method?

I called Vigilante they want $266+ Shipping to cut it open and clean it. I was really hoping to not have to spend more to clean the converter than I paid for it. lol

I think you should be able to find a local shop to do it for 12x-14x tops

^ what he said. My local converter shop charged me $125 to cut and clean my ss3600, and it was done next day.

I would have suggested revmax as well. I got mine for around 300 shipped. 3200 stall on a stock 95 LT1 and I cut .3 tenths off my ET.

I had someone once tell me "if you buy for price you buy it twice." This applies to converters big time. I tried going "cheap" and got a locally built converter that several swore by for $400. It was supposed to be 3200 if I remember right. It was loose as **** and the car seemed sluggish. I swapped it for an FTI and didn't look back.

True... however cheap and inexpensive are two different things.

Something can cost little and be cheap.. You can get junk.

REVMAX Converters... They will build a custom stall converter for you.
They will build a converter for your application for 350.00 or 400.00
If you are going to run nitrous tell them you want the anti balloon plate upgrade.
H.D. Sprag & Torrington needle bearings. Should be good for 400 H.P.

I have one in my car ... 2 years with no problems. 3200 rpm lock up stall for the street...perfect !

If you are going for high HP... Go for the Billet converter !
