Default TH400 guys....what shifter

Just seeing what the popular shifters out there are. I'd like to see some pics of your installs as I want my setup to look really clean. I used to run the cheatah shifter back when I had a th400 in this car (currently a 6 speed), and I think it was a little cheazy on the quality side...any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Conrad

well i am not a TH400 guy just yet, but i will be useing a BnM pro stick. i just looked in the latest JEGS mag and i dont see it in there anymore. i bought it a long long time ago before any LS1s were around and had it in 3 different cars. it has worked perfectly ever since. i did melt one shifter cable on the exhaust once but thats it. they had a replacement cable cheap. any BnM shifter will work good. it is all your personal prefence.

the B&M ratchet shifters: I'm a little confused as to how they operate.....do you pull in the lever everytime you want to shift?

Sorry for my ignorance, I've been a t56 guy forever....

yeah, u pull it down... when u let it go it goes back to center...

it doesnt have gates... no way to miss a shift...

u can only shift one gear at a time without going back to center.

basically u pull the handle it turns a gear... which pulls or pushes the cable to shift ur trans

i am using a B&M hammer, its a combo ratchet/normal shifter. N-R-P is like a stock shifter and in drive a lever drops down and you have N-3-2-1 on a rachet. NHRA approved reverse lockout also.. There is a pic installed in an M6 console on my web page. The cheetah is a nice shifter but it depends if you want a stock look or race car look..

I run a Cheetah SCS. It was the best choice for me, as I like a non ratcheting shifter, and it's gated. It does NOT look even close to stock, and is strictly a racing application. The casing is plastic, but it's internals are very well made.
