Default So my transmission dip stick is stuck

I can't get the sucker out. I pulled on it with it unlocked and even tried locked. No luck. Any suggestions? Engine is an LS1 with an A4.

You could plug up the vent hose...warm it up and it should pop right out. Just kidding, thats a terrible idea that would podsibly blow other seals.. Its probably stuck at the very top where the lock seals to the tube. Id just try wiggling and twisting and see if it comes loose. Otherwise you could try from the bottom by dropping the pan, but I doubt that would work.

Could be the stick itself is broken near bottom grabbing the tube but you will have to drop the pan to see.

Thank god that wasn't it. I ended up using brute force and saying if it breaks, it breaks. I latched some vice grips onto it and finally got it out. Luckily nothing is broken and it works fine now.

i always found i needed to pull up on the dip stick from the bottom side of the red handle where it meets the tube. if i tried to pull it straight out it wouldnt.. pulling it out at an "angle" seemed to work for me
