Default 2001 camaro convertor wish ms3

I am going to be getting the ms3 package soon with stock heads and 3.73 gears and now i am deciding which convertor to go with. I was wondering what kind of convertors you guys have ran with these and your experiences with them for mainly street and some track.

I've never had that cam but most likely everyone is going to say to get a 4000 minimum. As far as brand how that'll be up to you and how much you want to spend

I was thinking about a yank ss 3600 or 3800. Torque converters kind of confuse me so what would be the positive and negative of a 3600 compared to a 4000

I would put a 3800-4000 stall FTI converter in it, but I'm a little bias. Our SRLS7391 converter would give you about a 4200 stall and would still have good street manor. And if you ever wanted to put nitrous on the application it would work well with that also. Feel free to give us a call if you have anymore questions. 1-866-726-8358

Thanks,
Champ

Which ones are for the 4l60e? Or do the ones for the 4l80e work with the 4l60?

I have the ms3 in my car, I run a 4000 stall but am thinking of switching to a 4400. The car could be daily driven, has good manners but its all in the tune!

Yah I'm getting it tuned at speed inc so it should be pretty good. Is it hard to spin it into the power band on the street?

The ms3 really starts to pull around 4000 rpm's so with a 4000 stall as soon as u mash the gas your in the powerband. Just gear it accordingly, Texas speed recomends 4.10 or better.

My old car had a MS3 with a 4400 stall in it. Even had 3.42 gear in it. Went a best of 11.5s on motor with a shitty short time.

3800 would probably be a minimum. I'd go 4000+. FWIW I have a Yank SS4000 and love it.

Yah i was probably going with a yankss 4000. 4.10 gears seem to high for the street. I'm gunna go with the 3.73s. I see a lot of automatic guys going with those. I am trying to install them myself for the first time too. Wish me luck!
