4L60e cable driven only, no electronics questions
I have a rmvb th400 currently and would like to put a 4L60e back in it.
However I don't want to make it computer controlled.
Can I just connect my th400 cable to the shift selection shaft and leave the harness unplugged and just manually **** all my gears? or do I still need to have something the like the roessler black box?
My tune is already a manual tune so there is not trans sensors I need.

In short NO.
The shift linkage only selects what range of gears is available. The actual gear shifting is done by electric solenoids controlled by the PCM or other method.
With the harness unplugged, both shift solenoids are OFF and 3rd gear defaults.

Get a 700r4. Same thing with only a tv cable to control detents. All the internals from a 60e will work with the 700 so it can be just as strong. That will get you your 4 gears and keep it non computer controlled. And you can have it built without lockup so that won't be an issue either.

The PCS transmission controller is super easy to install, only have to connect like 5-6 wires.. It is very easy to tune with a laptop once you have the base tune installed. It works very well.. Much easier then messing with the factory TCM..
About $600 I believe.. Better then screwing with TV cables on 700Rs..
