Default slipping

Ok I have a 93 ta and I think I just lost 3rd and od. I was cruising and and noticed my rpm was rising so I pressed on the gas a lil and sure enough I had nothing! I've notice that before If I was cruising and stepped on it, it would never down shift to 2nd . So maybe I burned up 3rd? Does engine know like secrets to parch it or do I need to pull and rebuild? P.s. Its a 700r4 with a s10 stall

Sounds like your 3-4 clutch has come apart...

Many times, when a transmission sits around for that long, the clutch plates dry out and fail when put into service again. With the 700R4/4L60E, I usually see the low/reverse frictions fail in this scenario, but it can happen to any of them.
