Default Hold 2nd for burnout

The title says it all. I'm trying to figure out how to get my 4l80 to stay in second gear when I select it in order to do a burnout at the track.I have Hptuners and don't see anything for that purpose. There's got to be a way cause I see it done constantly. Thanx in advance.

I just manually shift my down to 1st and start burnout and then manually shift up to 2nd and hold there through the burnout. Works on my 98 Camaro. Put it in D when you roll up to the line to stage.

It's OK to start in first, but you want to get into 2nd asap and at as light throttle/low tire speed as possible. WOT 1-2 shifts while spinning can cause sprag failure.

I was looking at that. IIRC, my D2 is set high (300+). I guess that's to hold it in 2nd. I'm at work so I'm not sure of the numbers.. Thanx.

In regards to HPTuners you can do it with the scanner in real time if you have the laptop in the car.
