I like knowing my trans isn't a ticking time bomb. Gas mileage went down. Car is much more streetable without the monster clutch and tick master. It feels sluggish around town but that may just be the nature of a stalled 4l80. I say go for it. Get the right converter for your driving habits. Give circle d a call

The car has 3.73 gears and 3800ish converter. A common setup. I guess what I'm saying is you're turning lots more rpm to go the same speed as a manual car. Anyway the car is quicker. Go for it. I left the clutch pedal in to remind me of my roots haha

Oh ok. Understandable.

I like the clutch pedal. But I might burn the clutch itself down to ashes lol

I totally agree - car feels sluggish around town because I have to give it much more revs now. I can lock converter with the switch, and I do it often in 4th gear, it helps a bit (car not only revs but also goes), but you can only do it in 4th.
But since I went from M6 I've had bad passes only twice, both when I forgot to shift after using transbrake. With M6, much more often. And I hated dealing with clutches.
BUT 2 days ago I've lost 4th gear so at the moment I'm not happy anymore

giving it more around town is going to go hand in hand with any stalled auto. not just a 4l80 so thats really a wash.

sorry to hear about your problem. who built the trans?

I've had my swap done for over a year now. I wasn't happy at first. It took me countless hours to get it to shift how I wanted it. When I took it to the track it was .2 slower and seemed to slip on the top end.
Now I built a little bigger motor and rebuilt the 80e(I somehow cut a seal the first time)
Took it to the track yesterday and couldn't be happier. Car launched awesome and shifted perfectly time
As for driving around town and feeling sluggish I have an edge 4400 converter and it drives great. No sluggishness here. I wouldn't go back on a track car
